We are so happy that things are turning out to be warm and rolling over at the site. The last couple of weeks, we have had a few group discussions amongst the regular members and felt the need of a higher level of participation and responsibility sharing from the students end. The same is also true for the alumni.

I had the opportunity of talking to a few of the current students over the phone and realised that there may be a need of better co-ordination and directions that they need.

Keeping this in mind, I introduce a special privilege group, called the "Enthusiasts". This group will be a selected group and membership will be granted solely based on the "continued" involvement from the members. It would also expect certain degree of commitment from you in terms of time and effort that you can devote for the site. Typically you a member will be expected to devote 30 mins to 1 hour a week to be a part of this exclusive group.

At this time, Vijay will be the group leader and it would be left to his sole discretion to accept or reject a membership request. He will not be obliged to provide any explanation to anyone for his decisions.

So, if you are a real enthusiast, go ahead make an application ... its real simple.

1) Make sure you are registered and logged in into the forums.
2) On the forums page, look for the link "Usergroups" at the top section and click it.
3) Select the group called Enthusiasts and click on Join button next to it.
4) Await the moderators approval , if you deserve it, I am sure you will be accepted.

If you have questions, go ahead and post it here, I will try and respond to them ASAP.

Cheers
Pati

Pati,

Things are rolling pretty fast. I'm able to feel the heat now.

Now that you have given me responsibilty, also give me the
gyan of what we are supposed to do in that group.
I mean the scope and it's relevance. And do you want we to follow
some guidelines while accepting the membership, etc.

Rest all members, and more importantly the enthusiasts, we are
looking forward to your great company and contribution.

Cheers
Vj

Vijay
As we had decided, this is to encourage and recognise the students and others that are out there and putting in their effort to help the site and the community.

We wil accept any application that says he/she is willing to (or already has) contributed as a member of the site. Note that as discussed, we are NOT talking about financial contribution. We are talking about effort and involvement.

Please review all members weekly or fortnightly and drop someone if you feel they are not being active. As for accepting new applicants, you can do it more frequently if you wish.

Additionally, if you feel that there is someone that deserves a membership but has not applied, you can go ahead add that person into the group.

Overall, its a group of people that are a little ahead of the other members in terms of "field help"

Cheers
Pati

Over the past few months things have rolled down pretty fast.
It's really very heartening to see the efforts bearing results.

Time to pat on our backs and then say "miles to go before we sleep"
Believe me, you all are a great crowd here and I have thoroughly enjoyed the company.

Regards
Vijay

Hi guys,

Thank you for admitting me into the Enthusiatists group. I went through the recent postings of the members particularly pati and vijay's, sounded like things are changing for good. Its high time we, the ravenshawvians teamed up and contributed towards the community(Ravenshawvians). Its pay back time folks and lets get things rolling. Ideas, we may have many because there's a lot that needs to be done but frankly speaking its the present students that have to actually get things done. Afterall its their life that is directly impacted by what happens in the college, its their career thats at stake. We old timers can only initiate, guide and help them. From my experience, I know how difficult it is to break the slumber of the college adminstration and make things change. The present corps of students are the one who have to do that. Meanwhile we can, with the help of forums like this, atleast bring the past and present generation of Ravenshawvians under one roof for a common purpose. Forums like this are probably, in this age of technology, the best and efficient way to propagate ideas. But we have to raelise one thing early, change can only be brought by getting your hands dirty in doing things at the college, not by philosophising sitting in AC rooms typing into the computer.

My sincere request to all those who happen to read these postings is to encourage their freinds and class mates visit this site, post their comments. discuss problems and then implement the ideas in college. This should not be only about career, its about what we make of us as human beings. The very fact that you are reading this, even if it may be just out of curiosity, means you are one who is concerned about about your college. Thats the starting point - the feeling that somethings not quiet right, somethings should change.

Be it your career issues or any aspect in your student life, I strongly encourage you all to discuss with the community. Noone here I believe is an expert on these issues but by mutual sharing of our experience we can hope to understand them, if not solve them.
