Speaking at the occasion of Ravenshaw University’s first inaugural function at Cuttack Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik assured all help to University from state government.
He said that the Orissa Government was seriously thinking of providing all help for the development of Orissa's oldest institution after it had become a university. He said that in Naraj 150 acres of land had been provided for construction of its second campus. If more land was required then his Government would do so.
Hinting at a new beginning in Orissa under the new economic policy, Patnaik said it would definitely bring huge employment opportunities in the State. Sectors such as textile, hotel, handloom, IT, tourism, horticulture, floriculture and fishery are the booming fields that can provide good employment opportunity to students in the days to come. Reiterating the statement of the President APJ Abdul Kalam, Chief Minister Patnaik claimed that his Government had promised to improve the available human resources of the State and to make the best possible use of its human resources.
Debdas Chhotray, the Vice-Chancellor, Atanu Sabyasachi Nayak, MLA Patkura, Arun Sahoo, MLA Nayagarah, Pratap Jena, MLA Kishannagar, Suman Mohapatra, advisor Students' Union, Himansu Ojjha, president of the Students' Union and Jayanta Moharana, general secretary of the Students Union were present at the meeting.
